Dr. Erin Cotton, MD obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from Duke University in Durham, NC before earning her medical degree from Cornell Medical College in New York, NY. During medical school, she volunteered on a mobile health van in Quito, Ecuador and at a clinic in the rainforests of Bolivia. She completed her residency at Sutter Family Practice Residency Program in Sacramento, where she was elected chief resident in her final year. After completion of her residency, Dr. Cotton and her husband moved to Western Australia where she worked at Wirraka Maya Health Service, a community health center which serves rural Aboriginal populations.
Dr. Cotton returned to the United States in mid-2016. She joined the EDCHC team to work with a committed staff focused on providing care for patients in a warm and caring environment. Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Cotton and her family fell in love with Northern California and the Sierra Nevada when they moved here for residency training. Dr. Cotton enjoys hiking, camping, swimming, and spending time outdoors with her husband and young daughter.
